In the past two weeks, we have learned that TBI Fund sponsorship for people with stroke and aphasia will be rescinded unless we reverse the present proposal changes. The Fund is supported by a fifty-cent surcharge on NJ vehicle registrations. With the number of recipients now above 7,000, the Fund cannot support expenditures. Rather than raise the surcharge, the proposals seek to limit services, including total elimination of people with stroke and aphasia from the eligible target population.
Please download the enclosed "Talking Points" document and sample letters. Add to, or adapt the letter to be a meaningful one for you, and send it to :

2. Jennifer Velez, Esquire Commissioner, Dept of Human Services 222 South Warren Street PO Box 700 Trenton, NJ 08625
3. Governor Chris Christie PO Box 001 Trenton, New Jersey 08625 We know that if the surcharge is increased to $1.00, current recipients can be maintained.

Thank you.
